Pastor Wally Rakete

I am Presbyterian and Reformed by conviction. I believe that our society and the world need Jesus Christ as their Saviour. However, I do not believe that it is a matter of simply telling the truth about Jesus Christ, we as Christians must live the truth about Jesus Christ. It is as we teach and live as consistent Christians that we will impact our neighbourhood for Jesus Christ.

Grace Presbyterian Church in Pakistan
In 2001, my wife and I made New Zealand our permanent home and God has blessed us with four children. However, God has still laid a burden on my heart for the people of Pakistan, particularly the Christian community. There are around 10 million Christians in Pakistan, many of whom live in poor rural villages, with little access to education and employment. Their greatest need, though, is to understand the gospel, as most are only Christians because that is what their culture defines them as, and they have little understanding of what it actually means. Many of the existing church structures in Pakistan are corrupt, with little concern for the poor Christians. And the pastors usually have little training.
At the end of 2010, I was involved in setting up Grace Presbyterian Church in Pakistan (GPCP) which now consists of 15 congregations accounting for around 3,000 people. GPCP is focused on providing theological and biblical teaching while caring for the social needs of the Christian people. There has been some encouraging growth in these churches but much prayer and support is needed to enable them to continue to grow and to care for their communities. I have always had a heart to teach the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of the world.
Westminster Confession of Faith (1646) in Urdu
In 2011, the GPCP translated the Westminster confession of faith in Urdu, the national language of Pakistan, for the first time ever. Now this document is available on our website.
I now work extensively in this ministry and am supported by Redeemer Grace Presbyterian Church. I also help Christian leaders and churches worldwide for their specific needs and doctrinal areas.
